GLFlickrShow uses OpenGL to produce fullscreen slideshows with smooth, candy-to-your-eyes, transition effects. GLFlickrShow feeds for pictures on the Flickr online photo-sharing service using the Flickr API.

There are many ways of using GLFlickrShow...

GLFlickrShow is a screensaver (see some screenshots)

Configure the screensaver to fetch some of your favorite stream of pictures. The selection of pictures displayed by the screensaver is fully configurable. As this is an online screensaver, new pictures will be displayed each time the screensaver is launched. As the screensaver stores a number of previously downloaded pictures, it is also functionnal when offline.

GLFlickrShow provides a smooth, fullscreen interface for exploring Flickr

Using the GLFlickrProducer interface, you can easily configure an online slideshow. By defining the search criterions of the slideshow, you can explore pictures from a specific photographer (and even explore a specific set of that photographer), explore user favorites, explore pictures from your contacts and friends, explore pictures using specific tags (clustered searches are supported), and explore pictures from different user groups. The parameters of these dynamic slideshows are easily saved and retrieved.

Share and distribute online slideshows of your work

By sharing and distributing the tiny (248 bytes) slideshow files, you can easily share and distribute your pictures to others (e.g. share pictures of a family reunion with members of your family, distribute a portfolio of your best pictures, ...). Furthermore, you can add or modify the contents of these slideshows even after sharing the file as this content is in fact downloaded each time the slideshow is run (e.g. create a slideshow displaying the beautiful pictures of your newborn girl but also update and add new pictures to the show as days pass).
